The information on this page is provided to help our new 5th graders make the transition to middle school as easy as possible. We look forward to working with your children. Our Daily Schedule

7:35 to 7:50

Report to the fifth grade hallway

7:50 to 8:00

Homeroom – organize for the day

8:00 to 8:50

Period 1

8:50 to 9:40

Period 2

9:40 to 9:50

Healthy Snack (can be purchased at school)

9:50 to 10:40

Period 3

10:40 to 11:00

Period 4 (this is a split period)

11:00 to 11:20

Lunch

11:20 to 11:55

Period 4

11:55 to 12:50

12:50 to 1:55

Unified Arts

Afternoon Homeroom

Academic Guidelines:

bullet

Fifth grade students may expect up to one hour of homework per night

bullet

Students will not receive full credit for homework not passed in on time

bullet

Papers with no name on them will not be graded

bullet

Each student is issued an assignment notebook on the first day of school. They are required to record all homework assignments in their notebook.

bullet

Teachers and parents may use the assignment notebooks as a means of communication.

bullet

Students are required to ask for makeup work following absences.

Behavior Guidelines:

Students will be courteous and will respect the rights of others

bullet

Students will show respect for the classroom environment and use materials appropriately

bullet

Students will raise their hands and wait to be recognized before speaking

bullet

Students are responsible for putting forth their best effort

Overall, fifth grade behavior expectations are the same in each classroom; however, some individual differences among teachers do occur and these will be clearly explained on the first day of class.
